Welcome Back to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick

Please read the below guidelines so that you are best prepared for your next visit to a Spring Training game.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is excited to welcome you back to the #1 Spring Training facility in Major League Baseball!  Since the onset of COVID-19, Salt River Fields has worked with public health experts to help create a safe and welcoming environment for fans.  New policies and procedures have been implemented to keep everyone safe – but we need your help to make it a success.

 

Here’s what we’re doing…

Fan Experience

  • ALL GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE ACTIVELY EATING/DRINKING IN THEIR SEATS.
    • Prohibited face coverings: open-chin triangle bandanas, costume masks, face coverings containing valves, mesh materials, or holes of any kind.
    • To further protect fans and staff, the eating and drinking of food & beverages must be done in a stationary location, such as your seating location and not while actively walking.
    • All face coverings must: fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin & fit snugly but comfortably against the sides of the face.
    • All guests, ages 2 and up, must always wear a face mask/covering over their nose and mouth on ballpark property other than when actively eating or drinking at their ticketed seats.
  • Salt River Fields is a CASHLESS facility. No cash will be accepted at any time.
  • Unfortunately, players will not be able to sign autographs before or during the game.
  • The Cold Stone Fun Field will be closed during all games.
  • No smoking of any kind including vaping.
  • No spitting of any kind (tobacco, sunflower seeds, etc.)

Clear Bags only:

  • Fan safety continues to be our top priority at Salt River Fields. The Clear Bag Policy is to ensure the safety of our guests and provide an expedited ballpark entry process and enjoyable fan experience at all Spring Training games.
  • Each fan may carry one bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC no larger than 12″ by x 6″ x 12″ or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). Additionally, fans may also carry a small clutch purse no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap, that is subject to search. 
  • For guests with medical or childcare related needs such as diapers, wipes, formula, bottles or breast pumps, through items must be brought in a medical or diaper bag and guests should bring their bag to staff during the screening process.

Tickets & Seating:

  • Unfortunately, season tickets are not available for the 2021 Spring Training season.
  • Tickets will be sold in 2, 4 & 6 groups or “pods” to help maximize social distancing within the stadium.
  • Pods will be space at least 6 feet away from each other.
  • ALL GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE EATING/DRINKING IN THEIR SEATS.
  • Seats within 6 feet of the warning track and 12 feet from the dugouts will not be sold for all games.
  • All box offices will be open to purchase ticket via contactless payment (i.e., credit card, debit card, Apply Pay, etc.) with social distancing promoted in line queues.
  • All hospitality areas will have limited capacity and menu selection
  • Holder acknowledges and understands that, in all exhibition games played during 2021 Spring Training, the following adjustments to the Official Baseball Rules shall apply:
    • Ending Innings Unilaterally: Games that occur from February 28 through March 13, (“Retiring the Side”) shall be relaxed, such that defensive managers may end an inning prior to three outs following any completed plate appearance, provided the pitcher has thrown at least 20 pitches.
    • Spring Training Games: Games that occur from the start of Spring Training through and including March 13 will be scheduled as 7-inning games, and may be shortened to 5-inning games (or lengthened to 9-inning games) upon mutual agreement of both managers.  Games that occur on or after March 14 shall be 9-inning games (and, upon mutual agreement of both managers, can be shortened to 7-inning games).  

Parking:

  • All parking is general admission in all parking lots. See pricing below:
    • Centerfield Parking Lot – $7
    • Mountain Parking Lot – $7
    • Desert Parking Lot – $7
    • South Soccer – $10
    • Granite Parking Lot – $5
    • Home Plate Parking Lot – $7 *reserved for ADA, valet, and pass holders
    • North Soccer – No parking available
  • Parking is available to be purchased during the ticket purchasing process.
  • Cash will not be accepted at parking lots.
  • Tailgating will not be allowed in all parking lots.
  • Tickets purchased from anywhere other than Ticket Master or Salt River Fields.com will need to pay for parking upon arrival.
  • Masks are recommended for all guests while in parking lots.
  • Shuttle services will be provided to all guests and will be cleaned and disinfected after every ride.

Dedicated entry points and exits:

  • All gates at Salt River Fields will be open for access.
  • Gates will open at 12:00 PM for each game & 5:00 PM for a night game.
  • Unfortunately, fans will not be allowed into the stadium for batting practice.
  • Floor markers will be used to promote social distancing while waiting in line for the security process.

Enhanced cleaning & sanitization methods:

  • Salt River Fields will increase cleaning and sanitizing throughout the stadium, with more emphasis on high touch areas before, during and after each game with hospital grade disinfectants.
  • Hand sanitizer will be made available throughout the ballpark for all guests.

Stadium Staff Requirements:

  • All staff members who enter the stadium will go through a health screening, which includes a questionnaire and temperature check.
  • All staff members will be required to wear masks and gloves throughout their shift.
  • Staff members will be required to routinely wash their hands with soap and water as the preferred hygiene method, but when unavailable will use hand sanitizer.
  • Staff members will be directed to socially distance at all times when it is practical in connection with the conduct of their duties.

Creating social distancing:

  • Much of the gameday experience including seating, line queuing and high-traffic areas have been modified to support social distancing standards.
  • Social distancing will be promoted at concession stands, restrooms, entry gates and ticketing offices.

Converting to cashless payment systems:

  • All concessions, retail points of sale and parking attendants will be cashless.
  • In addition to traditional scan and chip options, all fixed points of sale will offer tap or scan payment options including Apple, Google and Samsung pay.

Concessions:

  • Pre-packaged or wrapped items all locations.
  • All beverages served with lids or caps and refills will not be offered.
  • Prepackaged condiments available at stands versus community condiment carts.
  • Re-mapped menus to maintain a higher level of menu items more closely available. Includes a reduction in menu offerings to enable speed of service and limit contact.
  • Socially distancing in line queues.
  • Masks and gloves are required for all staff.
  • Plexiglass will be installed at concession stand windows.
  • Increased frequency and depth of sanitization protocols.
  • Hand sanitizer available at all stands.
  • Hawkers will not be available.

Food & Drink Offerings:

  • The following concession stands & portable food stands will be available:
    • The Show & 101 Cattle Company
      • Burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, fries, nachos
    • Home Plate Hot Dogs
      • Sonoran dog, bratwurst, fries
    • Chick-fil-A
    • Mustache Pretzels
    • Malibu Rum Bar
    • Ultra Terrace Bar
    • The Bar
      • Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum, Jack Daniels Whiskey & wine

Retail/Merchandise Stores:

  • Enhanced social distancing efforts to reduce guest contact including:
    • Socially distancing line queues.
    • New store checkout layouts.
    • Limited number of guests in the store at a given time.
    • Floor markers to keep guests distanced.
    • Hand sanitizer available at all retail locations.
  • Salt River Fields offers two Team Shop locations throughout the stadium (Right Field Concourse & Left Field Concourse) with full selections of Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and Salt River Fields merchandise.
  • Baseballism will also be open throughout Spring Training.
  • Unfortunately, only ticketed fans are able to purchase merchandise at these locations during games.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick continues to closely monitor the latest developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) both globally and locally and its impact to our day-to-day operations.  Providing a safe environment for our clients, visitors, guests and employees has been our top priority.  As additional information and guidelines become available through the Major League Baseball, CDC, or national/local officials, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick will continue to comply and make updates.
