MLB, Arizona State University and Salt River Fields team up to hit a home run for sustainability with “Recycle Rally” – the first zero waste legacy project at Spring Training.

“Recycle Rally” is working to recover more than 90% of stadium waste through recycling.  The innovative project aims to hit a home run for sustainability as we target a new benchmark to “go green” for recycling and waste management at future baseball games, where fans learn to make recycling a habit in their own homes and hometowns.
As a fan, don’t be a benchwarmer, get up and help contribute to ZeroWaste!  Be sure to touch all the bases of recycling!
Know what you can recycle before the game so you don’t balk at the recycling bin. Shutout waste by recycling this common gameday items:
  • Plastic cups
  • Bottles
  • Paper drink cups

A diverse group of students and aspiring change agents from Arizona State University are utilizing their individual expertise, and combined determination, to make Salt River Fields a Zero Waste facility this Spring Training Season. The Zero Waste Team will be engaging with fans during games and developing their project behind the scenes to strike out waste at Salt River Fields.
